Welcome back to Agentic Coding Weekly. Here are the updates on agentic coding tools, models, and workflows for the week of Oct 11 - 17, 2026.
Meanwhile, 9 day long Claude hackathon will run from Nov 2-10 for Japan residents. Deadline to register is next Monday, Oct 26th.
1. Tool and Model Updates
4 new relevant model releases last week: Gemini 4 Argon, Muse wonder, Muse Spark Open, and DeepSeek-v4.1-Flash-1017.
Gemini 4 Argon is finally available for public use. A pro tier model release from Google after 8 months.
Muse Wonder release consists of two models: Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full. The full version is only available to Muse Code subscribers.
Muse Spark Open is 816B total, 42B active params MoE model. The license makes it close to open-weights but not exactly.
DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017 is the best open-weights model now. Also seems to be better than Opus 5, GPT 5.6 Sol, GLM 5.3, and Kimi K3.
OpenCode 2.0 is here. OpenCode Console had a security breach.
Here's the current state of coding benchmarks:

3. Reading List
Jev Meets the Trolley Problem - what if Jev has to choose between five people and its own server?

That’s it for this week. I’ll be back next Monday with the latest agentic coding updates.
