Welcome back to Agentic Coding Weekly. Here are the updates on agentic coding tools, models, and workflows for the week of Oct 4 - 10, 2026.
1. Tool and Model Updates
Mistral Large 4 released. MoE with 1T total and 52B active params. About double the size compared to DeepSeek v4.1 Flash, but doesn't beat it on benchmarks, more than 3x expensive as well. Good thing is it's also open-weights and doing quite well on cyber sec benchmarks, better than GLM 5.3 and DS v4.1 Flash and Kimi K3.
After Opus and Sonnet 5.5, Haiku 5.5 is here now. For up to 100k context length, it seems to match the pricing of Luna 6.
With Claude Max subscription, now you get equivalent amount in Claude API usage per month.
Here's the current state of coding benchmarks:
Model | DeepSWE 1.1 | Frontier Code 1.1 Main | Terminal-Bench 4.0 | Pricing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Mistral Large 4 | 62% | - | 28% | $1.36 / $4.18 |
GPT 6.1 Sol | 75.2% | 50.2% | - | $2 / $10 |
Claude Opus 5.5 | - | 54.6% | 66.4% | $4 / $20 |
MiMo 2.6 Pro | 71.9% | - | 34.9% | $0.435 / $0.87 |
DeepSeek V4.1 Flash | 74% | - | 31.2% | $0.15 / $0.6 |
GPT 6 Astra | 74% | 53.3% | 57.9% | $10 / $50 |
Fable 5.1 | - | 50.9%. | 55.8% | $10 / $50 |
Kimi K3 | 69% | 44.2% | - | $3 / $15 |
2. Open Source Corner
docker-agent - another agent harness but this time it's from docker
mxc - cross-platform sandboxed code execution system from microsoft
3. Reading List
I think I found a planet nobody knew existed. I used Claude Code to find it. - very cool and interesting use-case, post is written in a way (with AI) that it's very annoying to read though
That’s it for this week. I’ll be back next Monday with the latest agentic coding updates.
